Please can someone tell me how to speak to the Vodafone credit team. I can't get through the phone menus and have made 10+ calls to 03333 040191 so far today with no luck. Have spoken to Aya in Customer Service who was very helpful and to Deepak on Web Chat who was also very helpful, but neither of whom are able to give me written confirmation that my default debt on credit report is a mistake and will be removed.
This stems from last October when I rang and wrote to Vodafone to cancel my broadband dongle contract. No further correspondence was received from Vodafone, so I had assumed it was all resolved. However yesterday I had my mortgage application declined due to a Vodafone debt of £56.84 which I had no knowledge of whatsoever!!!! Apparently although this was actioned on 11th November 2016 there was a Vodafone back-office error which has caused this default debt which I had no knowledge of, no emails, no letters - nothing from Vodafone to advise of any ongoing problem!
Have spent all morning and managing to resolve this with Aya cancelling the debt and Deepak making lots of notes on my account - - I am now hopelessly stuck in a loop of pressing 1s, 2s, *s hanging up and starting again in order to speak to the Credit team who may or may not be able to update my Vodafone record on Credit Scoring reports so that I can get on with my life and get a mortgage. HEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPPP! ! ! !

I would also like to contact credit team as partner declined a new contract with a good experian score.. no credit cards or loans. Always pays current 3 contract on time etc. He wanted to join Vodafone as I rated them highly but not sure I will again.

Unfortunately Vodafone UK are unable to provide a reason as to why a Credit Check has not been successful as their systems only show an acceptance or declined status.
They advise to contact one or more of the Credit Houses, Experian being one, in order to check that nothing wrong has been recorded there.
It doesn't always come down to a credit score problem, or a certain time at the address. As a quick example, it can be due to the amount of incoming to outgoing payments. If a customer has a mortgage and a car and something else on finance, then something else for the kids which is paid monthly, the credit check is ran to see if the customer can pay the finance (monthly cost) based on other payments per month.
To add even a clear Credit File with good Credit Score does not guarantee acceptance. It's also good practice to let 90 days elapse before making another application in order to let the Credit Score recover.

Hi @Lesleycooper, I'd be frustrated with this also. @BandOfBrothers has hit the nail on the head with our Credit Check process, we're provided with no information as to why some are declined. Irrespective of a high Experian score, our credit vets are taken solely from a payment history perspective and not that of a marketing tool. Hes never missed a payment on anything in his life. So we are at complete and utter loss as to the issue. Bearing in mind a child can have a phone these days.
Very disappointed with Vodafone after this. And looking at the internet others having similar issues.

A child can't take out a contract, contracts are only available to the over 18s by which time they are deemed responsible.
Looking at your previous post, you mention your partner does not have any credit cards or loans, I am wondering is that is where the problem lies, when the check was done, there was insufficient credit history to go on. There are times when having a credit card and paying off the balance each month has it's advantages.
Wait for 3 months, this will give your partners credit file time to recover from the search, hopefully your partner will then become a Vodafone Customer. The credit agencies are also there to offer help and advise.

There is no account access via this forum anymore.
The Vodafone Credit File Specialist Teams are not customer facing unfortunately.
You'll both need to go through Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries and they'll then get their Credit File Specialist Teams to investigate your cases.
