Since moving to a new address, I've received a default payment notice by a debt collection agency - stating that I own Vodafone money. Upon checking my credit history I see that I've had a default notice on my file going back to 2017. What makes this all the more annoying was that this was resolved years ago. When I contacted vodafone customer support channel I had downloaded a transcript of the online chat (attached for reference) where I stated the problem and was guaranteed that all was resolved and I would not have to deal with this again.
This has had a big impact on my ability to be approved for loans or credit cards as this is the only red mark on my credit history. I am intending to apply for a mortgage next year and now could be affected by this issue. I would like Vodafone to remove the default notice and allow me to build up my credit score again.

There's no account access via the forum, I'm afriad, but this can be resolved by the Social Media Team. Drop them an initial note on Facebook or Twitter (if you include a link to this thread, you won't have to repeat yourself). They can escalate the matter to Credit File Support, who will have access to the full history.

Sure, however is there a more direct channel as I see that all the social media channel is focussing on in Christmas deals? Is this really the ideal channel for this issue? How do I even place a comment?

Like most companies, Voadfone now provides customer support via social media. Simply send them a message on Facebook or Twitter and they'll tell you how to follow up privately. They'll be able to take your personal details and get this escaleted for you.
If you don't have a social media account, it's worth opening one (Twitter is probably best for occasional use) for occasions such as this. (You don't have to use it for anything else if you don't want to)
