Loyalty means nothing!

I have been with Vodafone for 24 years and wanted to upgrade to an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Now being a loyal customer you would have thought Vodafone would give a discount to someone who has remained loyal. They flatly refused. So now I’m going to go to a network that actually cares about their customers. Never mind Vodafone, you’ve lost a loyal customer.

From looking at previous posts here and elsewhere it looks like Apple don't really give the Networks much kickback for selling their phones. Historically iPhone contracts have always been dearer !

Ring 191 and chose the Thinking of Leaving option to speak to Retentions.

Or consider moving to sim only which are sometimes cheaper and buy the iPhone from Apple,  disposable income allowing.

Places like Carphone Warehouse can sometimes give sweeter deals but ensure they upgrade you and not instead take out a 2nd line @Madboy

Also as your essentially become heir customer Vodafone discounts such as VEA employers discount isn't available.

If you are choosing another network and moving away from Vodafone then.ensire the new Network offers good signal and data speeds where you live, work and commute.

Also look at the ways of cancelling with Vodafone via a pac , stac etc and don't cancel your direct debit until you get a sorry your leaving letter and £0 bill.

All that said I hope you get the deal your after one way or another and stay.

I wish you all the best with this.

I’m just annoyed after all these years I’ve been with them and they won’t give a “loyalty discount”. My wife is with Sky and they are on the ball with Double data at the moment and I’m now going to move over to them (I think lol). The thing is, I’ve always had exceptional network service with Vodafone all these years and customer service has (now had) been exceptional. Don’t get me wrong, the CS agent was lovely and she did feel bad saying she can’t give me a discount.

Totally understand your viewpoint.

Sometimes it does pay to ask again  :Winking_smiley:

I don't know why people take out phone contracts with networks nowadays.

Vodafone will increase your plan cost every year, including the phone part of the contract, which clearly has no justification as the costs for that haven't increased. Until networks split the airtime and handset costs (which I believe may be coming soon) it should be avoided.

Get your phone on a 0% deal direct from Apple, and take out a SIM only plan on the network of your choice.

I take out both as I used to get a nice discount for being a loyal customer for many years. They have treated me well, but nowadays it looks like being loyal to a network doesn’t mean much does it.
