Hi,
So I decided that I would re-join Vodafone from 3. Got my PAc code from 3 and placed my order with Voda, provided the PAC code which all checked out and was confirmed in the order and number transfer emails I received from Voda on the 18th, all seemed well until the day my number was due to port in.
The porting in day (23rd Dec) came and went with no porting taking place, then on the 24th I received an email and text saying that the porting was complete and my number was now on the Vodafone network, except it isn't as I'm still on the temp number issued by Vodafone.
I've spoken to CS a few times and get the same answer "there's something wrong with the PAC code" but they cannot give any detail on what the issue is. I've also spoken to Three who have confirmed that the number was ported out successfully as far as they can see and is now on the Vodafone network.
This has caused me massive headaches as I use the number for business and I'm just hitting a roadblock each time I speak to Vodafone as they seem unable to offer any help or advice on how I get my number back.
I'm not sure if anyone monitoring the community can help but this is not a great start to my return to Vodafone and I'm having regrets already!

I agree it's not a great start but I'm thinking this has more something to do with the time of year which can affect porting in dates @carlwi

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I have tried contacting Vodafone and have had any chats with them since the 24th December and get the same answer that something was wrong with the PAC code, even though the PAC code seems to have been accepted by Vodafone, had the correct number allocated to it and appears to have been successfully migrated away from Three on the 23rd. To be honest I've just got to the point now where I've pretty much given up on the number being ported across as it's pretty clear that something has gone wrong somewhere but everyone I have spoken to at Vodafone since the 24th have just fobbed me off with the line that I need to go back to Three, even though it's pretty obvious now that the number was ported away from Three as scheduled as they have confirmed this to me.
Ultimately I appreciate that things go wrong, but the thing that separates the average providers from the great ones is customer service response and for me Vodafone have been pretty poor so far.

Hi @carlwi
It may just be due to the phone using the same information from the temporary number.
A lot depends on the phone you are using. If you are using an iphone and seeing incorrect information follow the link here . If you are using Android, update the number in your Google Account.
It is also worth trying to update the SIM on the network, this is done by going into your settings, networks, perform a manual roam onto any other network, wait for it to reject the request and reselect Vodafone.
You may need to do a factory reset of the phone to clear any previous memory of the temporary number or request a replacement plain blank SIM to transfer the ported number.
When you speak to the Social Team through Twitter or Facebook they will be able to advise further.

Thanks for the reply,
I'm on Android (Note 20 Ultra 5G) and have tried just about everything, certainly all of your suggestions and even different handsets that have been factory reset so contain no Google account.
I think I'm just at the point now where I'm going to get nowhere with this which is unfortunate.
Cheers.

When all seems lost something will happen I'm sure @carlwi

It’s always a nightmare porting this time of year as there can be big delays and sometimes porting can happen a week after you submit the request.
However split service that you have right now is something I experienced but it rectified itself 24 hours later automatically. Thankfully it wasn’t at Christmas though. However be assured that the fact your Three account has closed that the PAC was valid. I tend to find the offshore support agents don’t really understand how porting in the UK works as we use a system totally different to the rest of the world (with the exception of India).
Hold in there. It should just start working in the next 48 hours or so. Remember today is Sunday and Monday is a Bank Holiday so no porting activity takes place however I reckon Vodafone already have your number - they just need to apply your number to the account. Don’t be fobbed off with being told to go to Three to resolve. It’s Vodafone’s job to liaise with Three as you’re no longer their customer.
