Solution

My Voda Xperia 1 Network unlock problem

Hi community,

I have reached my 24m contract and requested and received my NUC.  However this failed to work and I tried 4 times.  I learnt that you can check the number of tries left is zero using *#*#7378423#*#*

So this phone is hard locked. The solution offered by https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00235502 suggests the next course of action is:

  • Contact the network operator to get a replacement NUC/NCK code.
  • Send the device in for repair to reset the NUC/NCK counter.

So can I get a replacement  NUC/NCK code from Vodafone?

Thanks

Hello @RedDragonTaff

If your phone is Hard Locked due to too many failed attempts at unlocking it then Vodafone would need to send it away to have it's counter reset so that you then can try again.

You can take the phone into a Vodafone Highstreet Store so they can send it away or ask customer services for a Returns Pack.

Tip … Take Time and Date Stamped pictures of your phone to prove it's aesthetic condition and one of I turned On.

If you go to a Store then also ask them to nite down on their records the aesthetic condition of your phone.

It would be beneficial to also check with customer services or the Vodafone Social Media Team's  that your current Nuc is correct.

Thanks @BandOfBrothers, I was expecting option 2.

I requested the NUC from the web page twice now and both return the same NUC.  So I guess its correct at least from Vodafone device records/database.  I'll see if I can check with the Social Media Team.
