No incoming calls or texts after porting number

Hi,
It has been 1 week since I ported my number to Vodafone. However, I have been told it has not been ported fully as a result of a split port. I cannot receive calls and cannot send or receive texts. I've called Vodafone customer services endlessly over the past week and spoken to the porting team as well who have told me nothing but lies. They said they have sorted it out on 3 separate occasions and told me to wait 24 hours, yet it is still the same.

On my last call I was told they have escalated my query and have asked my previous network to send over the remaining files that were supposed to come along with the porting process. However, I have spoken to 3 and they say they have nothing else to send.

It is unbelievable that in my first week of contract with Vodafone I am unable to use the service because I cannot receive calls or texts. No one is offering solutions and I now keep getting fobbed off when I call Vodafone customer service. 1 week of no service is terrible. Please someone help!

Hi Asim_316

This is not a customer support channel - it is a customer to customer forum.  This means we don't have the account access needed to assist you.

This means that you do need to contact Customer Services as they can look into the issue for you.

Please do bear in mind that porting does often take up to 24 hours to complete so it may be worth waiting until that time is up before contacting customer services as the issue may resolve itself. During this time, please turn your phone off for a few minutes and back on - this can help the network to recognise the new SIM card.  Repeat this process a few times. If you're still having issues after that time, you potentially have a split port and someone will need to look into this further for you.

PWIAC

I appreciate that this is only a support page but since customer services have no tools to help us with split ports we need to be put through to the tech team. No-where is it obvious how to do this. Complaint processes are also difficult to find.

After a Live Message discussion over 30 minutes and four long phone calls I am now into 7 days of waiting not including the 2 day porting time, I am now told to wait another 72 "working hours" which I take to mean 9 days until this can be resolved by the "Backend Team."

Any advice on how to proceed would be helpful.

Hi Asim_316,

Have you contacted Live help or called 191?
You can also contact the Team via Twitter @vodafoneukhelp.

The forum has no access to account details I'm afraid.

Hi Dave,

I am in a bind here. I moved to a Vodafone Business account from O2 yesterday & cant receive calls or texts. Here's the story so far...

1] I ported yesterday & i can make outgoing calls but cant receive calls or send/receive texts

2] When I call my new phone from another phone it says it is disconected. I cant afford for this to happen as i am self employed.

3] I called the porting team & they said its because O2 have not sent all of the files over. They said they escalated this issue & will have it sorted within 24 to 48hrs.

4] I am not able to register my new number on the Vodafone website either.

As a small business i am now reviceing e-mails asking if i have changed number or moved on. I really cant survive onther day without service. Can you please help?

BR - Paul

It's not o2's fault , problem lies with Vodafone it happens everyday I had to pester the boy in local Vodafone shop it took 2 weeks before our phones were fixed. If u phone o2 they will tell you the status of the number. Not much u can do except keep at them. I know at least 4 friends all had same bother make sure they compensate you once fixed £25 credit each phone seems to be the norm.

Good news. I just started receiving texts & I can also now receive calls. Looks like its sorted with less than a 24hr outage.

Thanks to all you bloggers for your help, I would still probably be in the dark with you :Winking_smiley:
