Hi I recently upgraded my mobile phone and was told that I would be able to keep my old number, but it hasn’t transferred across yet. I’ve tried resetting in settings and changing it to the old number but it changes it straight back to the new number. Any advice greatly appreciated

How did you upgrade @gingclaire ? Was this direct through Vodafone or your online account?
From what you have written, you have agreed to a new contract with a new number. If you upgraded, it would be for the same number.
The previous contract will need to be cancelled, this is completed by moving the original contract to PAYG or porting out to any other network on PAYG and back in on the new contract.
The easiest thing to do would be to cancel the new contract and upgrade through a store, sales or through your online account with the same number.
