Pay off current contract, switch to new deal

Hi gang. I’m wondering what the steps are to pay off the remainder of my current contract with Vodafone, without leaving the network, and switching to one of their Black Friday deals?

I’ve already got the total cost to pay off what’s left on my current deal, but I don’t want to move network or anything to mess up!

Does anybody know how I could do this easily, and preferably online?

Depending on how long you have left on your current contract, this may be as simple as doing the upgrade.   I was able to switch tarriffs about 3 months before my contract ended and, as far as I could see, there was no penalty - not even an extenstion to the new deal.  It will also depend on whether you're looking at device-inclusive or SIM-only.

Log into your My Vodafone account online or in the app and see if there's an Upgrade option and whether what you want comes up as available.

If you have any further enquiries, give 191 a call or drop the Social Media team a note on Facebook or Twitter.   I'm pretty sure that what you want will be possible, but the exact way of doing it will depend on what you have now.

If you speak to Customer Services @hollaa01 they may be able to upgrade you to the new Black Friday deal, but as you are still in contract, that may be complicated for them to do.  However, if you have paid off the contract, it will still continue on a 30 day basis and there is no reason for being unable to upgrade.

Although it involves temporarily leaving the network, the other way and probably a lot quicker taking no longer than 48 hours to complete is to port out on PAYG to any other network and port back in as a new customer on the new Black Friday deal by following keep my number here: Keep My Number   If you go this way start the process on Monday. numbers don't port over a weekend on any network.  This will cancel the old contract, you will receive the final and be on a good position to take out the new deal.
