I ordered a phone today but was never given the option to use a PAC code. Does Vodafone give a temporary number which I can then change using my PAC code or will I be given a new phone number that I can't change?

Yes @NotMyRealName get a PAYG SIM card for any other network, you can order one online.

Text for a PAC for the number you want to keep. port out to the other network. When the number moves in 24 hours time, text the same number for a PAC, complete the form for joining from another network.  24 hours later, probably sooner, you will have the number you want on the new Vodafone contract.

Does the job quickly with the desired result saves having to wait 30 days for the number to move to PAYG and saves having to pay for an additional contract for a further 30 days.
