Problems

I had a problem with my Vodafone account back in 2017 after I have got a pac code with another provide and closed my account, I was advised a few months later that it wasn’t closed and I was in arrears even though I had done the pac code etc. I ended up having to pay towards the arrears even after not being contacted about it! This left me with a mark on my credit for a missed payment after I was told it wouldn’t. It’s been 4 years and I have now received another mark on my credit from Vodafone for £870.... I have not been with Vodafone for 4 years and they are still screwing me over it’s so upsetting. Has anyone else had problems like this?

Hi @rebeccaware2617

In regards to what you have stated about a Pac.

I had a problem with my Vodafone account back in 2017 after I have got a pac code with another provide and closed my account.

I was advised a few months later that it wasn’t closed and I was in arrears even though I had done the pac code etc. ”

This is very confusing because when a person acquires a Pac from Vodafone and gives it to another UK Network within 30 days of receiving the Pac from Vodafone and the new Network using it this automatically closes down the Vodafone contract and instigates collection of the final bill from the customer.

May I assume your mobile number moved from Vodafone to the new UK Network ?

The only things I can think of is…

1. bills were still outstanding that needed paying.

2. you perhaps closed down your Direct Debit a bit too early not allowing Vodafone to collect the monies.

3. Your contract wasn't at it's final term meaning it needed paying off along with an Early Termination Fee.

I know how damaging a default can be from my own personal experience.

If Vodafone feel they exhausted means of collecting payment then they can engage a debt collection agency and can add a 6 year default onto a person's Credit File without having to give any prior warning to the account holder.

The Vodafone Social Media Team's here can ask their dedicated Credit File Specialist Team to investigate this for you if you engage with the Social Media Team's via Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries.

There is no account access via this forum.

They can only be contacted via Twitter or Facebook.

If you don't use social media and wish to not create an account in order to contact them then the other option is to speak with Vodafone Customer Services on 0333 3040191

I wish you all the best with this.
