Renewing to SIM Only

I have a couple of days shy of 1 month left on my VF contract.

Being a long time VF customer, I have previously contacted at around this time to renew for another couple of years, VF have always been happy to do this for me.

I have contacted them this time round and been told that I cannot start a new SIM contract until the day after my current contract ends. I cannot negotiate with them till I am out of contract with them?

When did this start? and how does it even make any sense in thus marketplace?

Anyone else had this issue?

Cheers.

Hello @Dosser62 - it's great to hear you've been with us a while and want to stay with us 😎

Thanks for the feedback about this journey. I'm sorry you weren't able to discuss a new SIM plan yet. Once you're out of contract, our Sales team will be able to go through all the available offers.

You can check your contract end date on the My Vodafone app - simply head to 'Your plan' on the main page > 'Plan' > scroll down to 'Agreement ends' date.

Thanks for the reply Amanda.

It does seem a tad strange though, If I decide to stay with VF it should just a case of agreeing the new deal during my final month and starting it from the day after my old contract expires.

However, and its a big however, if I don't like the look of any of the deals offered to me by VF, when I am no longer contracted to them, I then have to scurry about looking for alternatives elsewhere. Hence the reason that I brought this up.

If I go out of contract, does my current contract continue to run as per normal?

Which, then leads to the question, if I find another deal elsewhere, will my VF contract be cancelled, on receipt of my new providers SIM card arrival?

It all seems rather unnecessary hassle at a time, where, (if VF really my business), the company should be assisting in the extension process, instead of putting up barriers ,in the final month of the contract. It really does not send out the right messages to me to be honest.

Hi @Dosser62 👋 Completely understand your frustration and I will be passing feedback on in regards to not being able to discuss this in your last 30 days. To answer your question on whether your contract stays the same we would need to look over your account which we can`t do here, if you do wish to check this pop us a message on social media here and we will take a look.

If you were to cancel and take your number with a PAC code to another network this cancellation would happen at the point the other network activates your new SIM in most cases.
