Something to note: Vodafone using Quidco for cashback

I just thought I'd share this for anyone who uses Quidco to claim cashback for a contract with Vodafone you sign up for.

I've used Quidco for many many years and use it frequently for my car insurance, broadband, mobile contracts etc and recently I used them for my recent Vodafone order. As always I make sure to clear all cookies etc before pressing the tracking link from Quidco to ensure the tracking is recorded. Got the usual box up stating your visit was recorded as per usual & placed my order as usual.

Whilst I know cashback is never guaranteed, generally I have had no issues with cashback via Quidco & an extra £100+ is a great bonus a couple of months down the line.

However, unfortunately no tracked transaction has shown within my tracked transactions. I usually give it 3 days or so but nothing showing up as yet. As I have not received my order yet and can't be provided with an account number (according to customer services on twitter), at this stage I cant raise a claim with Quidco, which is fair enough I can wait.

But I have noticed a while double checking the cashback conditions it states you wont be eligible for cashback if:

  • you purchase accessories bought in combination with mobile handsets

First I've noticed this one & I am now kind of wondering whether a Samsung Smartwatch alongside a handset would be deemed an accessory? I'm guessing it probably would be classed as an accessory but then again it is a separate device too as anything with cell coverage is a device, not an accessory surely?

Mmm .. I'm now wondering maybe that's why it hasn't tracked? But usually the tracking still shows, but later down line it would be declined due to the requirements not being met.

Fingers crossed it will be fine when I make a claim, after all £126 cant be sniffed at and would be a bummer if its knocked back, but if it does get declined hey hoo, a lesson learned.  Mind you I certainly cant complain - having bought both the Samsung fold 3, Samsung smartwatch & the Samsung Buds 3 (from AO) I will have a nice £390 cashback from Samsung via there own Cashback promotion running atm

Anyway, just something for other customers to bare in mind with Quidco, always read the terms & conditions (even me, a seasoned Quidco user missed that one on this occasion! ..duh..) & don't search deals best deals purely based on Quidco cashback as its never guaranteed.

Just goes to show that with the right careful undertaking savings can be made @wharfedale66

Indeed you may find that the watch is determined as an accessory but as you say this may not be a deal breaker due to the cashback from Samsung.

I purchased the Samsung Fold³ direct from Samsung UK who gave me £50 off for showing an interest in the phone,  a pretty hefty reduction on the Aramid Case I bought at the same time, and YouTube Premium free for 4 months.

I also received the free Samsung Starter Kit that includes a case, charging brick and Fold sPen. Awesome freebie

They also gave me a voucher for £36 off a Samsung Watch 4 Classic however I'm content with my Samsung Gear s³ Frontier Watch right now.

I use the Samsung Buds Live as I like their form factor and how they fit in the ear canal.

Have you checked out the Samsung Boost offers ?

The Fold³ is certainly and impressive piece of hardware and software and shows it's true power when using multi tasking and split screen features not to mention flex mode.

Sorry I digress :Winking_smiley:

I hope you get some positive news regarding the potential discount.

Absolutely @BandOfBrothers  its always worth doing some homework to acquire those extra savings & freebies.

And thank you, even me "Mister Discount finder" here ( lol ) missed the Samsung Boosts .. dunno how I missed that offer, nice one & appreciate you mentioning it - even more bonus extra's particularly the YouTube premium as my son was talking about subscribing to that recently. And the Readily I will certainly use. ;0)

You're very welcome @wharfedale66  :Smiling:

The two positives I take away about YouTube Premium is no adverts and when your playing a particular video and come out of YouTube it'll keep playing in a minimised format on the phone, so you can then get on with doing something else on the phone at the same time.

There's quite a few more options via Boost too.

Glad I could help.
