Switching to new deal with Vodafone through 3rd party

Hello.  I am a long-term customer of Vodafone on pay monthly, been with them for years and years.  Currently on a SIM only deal as I decided to stick with my last phone until it was on it's last legs, which it now is.

I am looking at taking out a new contract on the Google Pixel 6 Pro; I know that as this is a new handset the prices are not very competitive, but the 'deals' that Vodafone's customer service team have offered me through the web chat are a joke, and as such, I am now looking at leaving.

The best deal I have seen is through mobiles.co.uk but the contract is with Vodafone, but the contract term, price and data are all really good.  Has anyone got any experience of using this crowd?  Also, would anyone from Vodafone be able to advise me how I go about getting my NHS employee discount (25%) applied to a new contract? And finally, Vodafone web chat told me I won't be able to keep my number going from Vodafone to Vodafone - is this correct?  it's not the be-all-and-end-all, but it would have been nice to keep it as I've had it since my first contract!

I'd start by calling 191 and choose the Thinking of Leaving option @girlinthebox as this will get you through to Vodafone Retentions who would try to give you a deal to keep you. Yes the phone is a new flagship model so the deals maybe thin on the ground.

Moving old vodafone number onto new Vodafone Contract. Credits to @AnnS 
There are two ways this can be done.

1.  Cancel the old contract and ask for the number to be moved to PAYG.  The number will be scheduled to move to PAYG after 30 days.  You will then receive a new PAYG SIM card to activate and top up a small amount to get it active on the network.  You will then be able to transfer the number to the new contract.

2.  Ask Vodafone for a PAC code, move the old number to an alternative network, use the SIM as PAYG on the other network and ask for a PAC code to move the number onto the new contract.If your original contract near it’s end date ? If not then actioning the above would end it and invoke any relavent early termination fee. 

The Employers Advantage Scheme discount is only available on contracts taken directly out with Vodafone.
