My son had his phone stolen at the weekend, we reported it to Vodaphone, who then blacklisted the IMEI number. However, we had the phone returned to us later the same day. Since then we have contacted Vodaphone a number of times who say that they can't unblock his phone and that Samsung need to do it. Samsung say its Vodaphone. He is now currently left with a £900 paperweight!
Can someone from Vodaphone please help him with this.

That sounds suspiciously like confusion with Network Unlock. As there's no account access via the forum, I'd suggest you contact the Social Media team via Facebook or Twitter. They'll be able to take your details privately and find out what's going on.
