So I bought a phone locked to Vodafone a few years ago, which now I'd like to give to my son, as he smashed his old one 😭
So I put his sim in and it requires unlocking, I get the nuc using the form on the website quite quickly, but he's messed about and it now says he needs a MCK, so I check with Samsung who say they don't provide them Vodafone need to request it, I tried vodaphone support who say they only supply them to the original purchaser.
I'm sure I'm not the first person to have this issue, can you clarify why the original owner is the only person allowed to request a MCK, and how keeping my phone locked to your network is fair, right or legal?

I suspect that the other side of the issue is that VF have to protect owners from people asking for codes to unlock the phone when it has been stolen.

Well I can still use it on the vodafone network, it's not blocked, I just can't unlock it from Vodafone!
