Question about unlocking the Vodafone Smart V8

If I buy a Vodafone Smart V8 in the UK, for £169.99 (inc. A mandatory £10 sim), will I have to use it for 30 days before unlocking? The person in the Vodafone shop said this. I plan on using an eBay code to unlock it. I know I would have to do the 30 day thing before unlocking it with Vodafone, but does that count for an eBay code [Removed]

Using the sim in the phone for 30 days was a requirement but has now changed @RicerDalemon 

There will be 2 requirements to Unlock a phone.: 

• The device was purchased from Vodafone

• The device is not currently blacklisted.

All other requirements will be removed.

You can pay for an eBay unlocking code if you wish and you won't have to wait 30 days either,  but it's free going with unlocking via Vodafone.
