Is it a pass code like a 4 digit pin to get into the phone ?
If so do you have any other entry security pass activated ?
As the 4 digit code is a security feature to protect the phone and it's contents tthen it's designed to not be easy to get past.
Try logging into your Samsung Account via a laptop / tablet each other and reset the code that way.
Or try....

Hi @DOLPHIN100
Unless you have set a passcode, the phone may just be unresponsive or frozen. Try the following advise from Samsung: My Galaxy smartphone has frozen, how do I restart it?
edited to add: I would also try removing and reinserting the SIM, also Vodafone always recommend trying the SIM on an alternative phone.

thank you all for the info, phone now unlocked, went on "find my phone", unlock. And voila, I can now use my phone again.
Many thanks to all
