HI,

I sent Vodafone reps my details with IMEI number and they sent me a NUC.

For the Sony Xperia 5

I put in a working SIM card and the NUC did not work.

Showed the message that everyone has been posting about.

Any ideas?

Thank you

Hi @TwentythreeTen

Please be careful that you don't use up all the attempts your phone allows or it'll hardlock and then need sending away by Vodafone to have it's counter reset.

These links may help.

If not then please contact Customer Services on 191 or Live chat although take into account these unprecedented times and allow more time than jsual to get through.

Due-to-the-unprecedented-demand-on-our-call-centres-you-may-unfortunately-experience-longer-than-usu...

Or try the Vodafone Social Media Team via Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries as they can check with the Nuc department if the code you've been given is correct and or arrange for an alternative.

Please link back to your thread here including your forum username so your not having to repeat yourself.

Thank you for the fast reply!

I tried the link that said to type in *#*#7465625#*#*

Looks like it says Network: Locked! No attempts remaining.

The rest say Unlocked.

Will the phone need to be set in or I read about a PUK?

Thank you
Regards

Does it say next to Network ?

If so then yes it could then be hardlocked.

You normally have around 5 attempts to key in a Nuc @TwentythreeTen

Can you upload a screenshot ?

If it's hardlocked then Yes Vodafone will need the phone to reset the attempts. The issue is all Vodafone Highstreet Stores are temporarily closed.

You could ask Customer Services for a Returns Bag but personally if I could i would wait until the Vodafone Highstreet Stores re open.

A PUK has nothing to do with unlocking a phone.

A PUK is only needed if a person has turned On their security feature called a 'Sim Pin' which stops a lerson using the sim card in another phone, and then forgets that 4 digit number and locks out the sim.

I have a feeling the NUC I was given was incorrect. I tried two different sims. One for sure works

Unfortunately as that is stated next to the 'Network" section this could very well mean it's hardlocked @TwentythreeTen

I assume from what you say about one of the sims working that means it is activated and connects to mobile data on the alternative network ?

Thats a pain! I used the exact NUC that was given to me.

Yes, The SIM is the one I am currently using on my backup phone.

Is there a link for them to send me something to send the phone back?

Thank you

Hi.

Please Speak with 191 , Live Chat or the Vodafone Social Media Teams @TwentythreeTen so see what options they advise please.

It's probably something similar to How-do-I-book-a-device-in-for-repair.

Tip > Before relinquishing the phone take time and dated pictures of it to be able to prove it's aesthetic condition and take one of it turned On and one of the water sensor which the visible one is normally inside where the sim card slot is.
