Unlock mobile wifi device R218h

I have mobile broadband device R218h and an unlock code.  Where do I put the unlock code as when following the instructions on connecting device to laptop w with a new sim, it does open the vodafon e page but does not ask for unlock code and their is not option i can see anywhere to enter this code. All i get is a message saying sim not detected.  I have tried all ways and can't find it, any suggestions on where to find it.

Did you get your new operator's SIM to work ok? If so, what did you do? I've just unlocked my R218h with the code Vodafone gave me today but it keeps saying 'diconnected' although it's showing EE 4G full bars on the app. I'm so confused!

Hello, I'm struggling find where you can get the unlock code? How much is it and where can you get of from? Can you unlock it like as soon as you get it from a shop or is there a period of tim you have to wait? Many thanks Laurence

You have to insert a Vodafone pay as you go SIM card and top it up. After 30 days, Vodafone will unlock it free of charge. They won't unlock it before you've had it in their network for 30 days though. I tried this! Also when it's unlocked, you will need your new providers settings. If you're struggling with it once you've had it unlocked, come back to me and I'll help you out with it as I found it confusing but have sorted it now.
