What have you tried so far? Is the option to turn it on showing or not?

Hi

  • So far I've found the correct path to the setting online, and checked that on the phone - the option isn't showing on the menu  Settings > Calls > Call Settings
  • I've contacted Google technical to make sure it's not a problem with the handset e.g. an additional setting I need to set before the option shows in call settings    there's not
  • Ensured that Wifi Call setting is enabled on my Vodafone account    it is from my previous phone
  • Dropped a 'CALLING' text to 97888 just in case that kick started something    no change yet, but it's been a bank holiday weekend
  • Tried contacting Vodafone technical chat multiple times     always get the nobody's available blocker
  • Visited the tech specialists in my local Vodafone store to see if they have any more ideas    they don't other than that 'perhaps the phone isn't on the list yet because it's not released in the UK yet - orders from 1st Sept, deliveries from early Oct',  Though they were very interested in seeing the new 4a

I do wonder if the last point is the sticking point and I just have to ride it out, although that's going to be a pain for 5+ weeks because my home is at the very edge of a signal area so I rely heavily on Wifi calling to make and receive calls at home

If the menu option is not there, call Vodafone and ask for the OTA configuration update to enable wifi calling on the phone.

Chances are the person will not have a clue. It usually takes about 3 or 4 calls to find someone who understands what is needed. I mostly find the menu option appears whilst still on the phone to them, there's no notification sound to say anything has been received. You may get lucky and have them escalate to level 2 and find someone who can do it. Just keep trying and calling back. You will get there in the end!

They like to disable it on your account, and re-enable it, this won't help. It's the OTA update you need.

Best Advice - use a bluetooth headset so you can use your phone at the same time as talking to them.

Many thanks will give that a go and let you know how I get on
