My friend told me that 5.1.1 is out for the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6, is this TRUE? :manmad:

Only by checking the software settings within the phone will a person be aware what's available.
Vodafone don't comment on firmware releases.

I'll assume it is, since other people have said it has and provided screenshots on places like reddit and Youtube

Ok.
Firmware updates are typically released in waves so keep an eye on your Software update settings.

The only way to find out for certain is to check for updates.
Please do remember that updates are often staggered so aren't rolled out to every IMEI number at once, so you may have to wait a bit to actually get the update.
Before updating, please make sure you have backed up your personal data. Also, it is a good idea to do a factory reset on your device after an update as it clears out any bits of problem code.

Yes, your friend is right; it is, but in the interim you may download the Turkish official Smart Ultra 6 firmware (if you're too impatient to wait, as I was!) [! BACKUP FIRST - THIS IS A COMPLETE WIPE !]

I've documented this on my YouTube channel, also:

Just to let you know that we wouldn't be able to accept responsibilty for any issues which may arise from updating to firmware which hasn't been approved by us.

Vodafone's "approval" basically means shoving a load of useless software on it, and then deploying it to people's phones :smileyvery-happy:
In a nutshell: If it is tested, approved and released by Vodafone Turkey, which it has been, what possible reason could there be for it not being 100% okay in the UK? That was rhtetoric by the way, and I've been running the Turkish firmware release version 5.1.1 for well over a week now - it's fine, just has some Turkish apps which can be removed. Basically, @LeeJS is just rattling off the rehearsed corporate spiel (I know it is his job, he wants to keep it, of course) - they HAVE to do that, to cover their butt, because it's all about Vodafone's accountability (or lack, thereof) and the bottom line, they don't care about your phone, believe me, they're covering their backs.
