A question from an iPhone Virgin

I've had the iPhone 6 for about a month. Loving it. Just one thing I haven't sorted. Notifications of emails. I've been into settings and got it on badge app icon. Show on lock screen. Alert. It works for text and whatsapp. But I do not find out that I have an email unless I open up that app. Then they all appear. Help please. I would like to have the same as I do for text and whatsapp. A number appears on the app shoeing me I have new ones to open.

I've gone and done something silly. Suddenly today I don't get vibration alert. I always have phone on vibrate or silent. When on vibrate all notifications are but that means. For some reasons that isn't happening. However if I turn on a sound and also the vibrate I get sound and vibrate. I'm going crazy. What have I done.

Settings - sounds - vibrate on silent. Turn it on.

That's never changed. But suddenly no vibrate

On the iPhone hold down the Sleep/Wake Button and Home button together until the Apple Logo shows.

Then On seeing this Apple Logo release both buttons ,and the iPhone will reset , which has been known to clear most glitches.

Also check that Do Not Disturb is not activated denoted by a half moon in the phones status bar.

Or Reset all settings.

Settings -> General-> Reset -> Reset All Settings.

I have rebooted a grill ion times. No half moon lit

No that's only if you choose 'Erase All Content and Settings.

Ok. I may try that. So I've got everything except whatsapp working. In notifications I get the option of sounds on or off. I don't want sounds. Just vibrate.
