Hi,
I have had my Vodafone broadband for almost a week now.
The router has firmware version 5.4.8.1.271.1.59
I am aware that there are people who have later revisions of the firmware than this, for example I have seen reference to 5.4.8.1.291.1.30.1.6, which as well as having more revision version points (?!) appears to be more recent.
I have tried manually checking for updated firmare on the router, which takes an age and then says I am using the current version.
Last night my event log reported these failures, which I don't recall seeing before.
25.04.2017 01:31:48 Connection to ACS failed System
25.04.2017 01:31:29 Connection to ACS failed System
(Times in the router's "What's BST?" time zone)
I assume this is the router attempting to connect to the Auto Configuration Server using TR-069 to see if there is a firmware upgrade, and failing to initiate the conversation.
Has any other technical minded customer seen this?
And please, I don't need to speak to anyone via live chat who won't know what ACS or TR-069 are.
Thanks.

From this thread:

it looks as though there are firmware changes afoot. To (mis)quote Dorothy Parker, What Fresh Hell is This??

Just to confirm my router has gone back to using 5.4.8.1.271.1.59 from 5.4.8.1.291.1.30.1.6 so you will not be able to upgrade to 5.4.8.1.291.1.30.1.6 as it isn’t available anymore.

Ahh... OK, thanks for that.
Maybe the "new firmware in two weeks" will actually happen as well then. Be interesting to see what that brings.
