Android 6 pb?

Corporategypsy
1: Seeker

Upgraded to V6 a couple of days ago. Tonight the phone, LG G3, rebooted to the Vodafone start up screen, then went (again) to the optimise apps process, back to the Vodafone start up screen and back to the optimise apps sequence. Keeps doing that until very hot and I take the battery out. Put the battery back in and the whole sequence repeats itself again.

Any ideas on how to get out of this loop please?

Hi there

Have you tried a hard reset of the device?  This will completely wipe all data on it so I hope you have a backup.

Remove the battery for a minute or two and then pop it back in.  When it is back in, you need to do the following:

  1. Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons
  2. When the LG logo appears, release and then re-hold the Power button while continuing to hold the Volume downbutton.
  3. The Factory data reset screen appears.
  4. Use the Volume down button to scroll until Yes is selected.
  5. Press the Power button to confirm.
  6. The Erase all user data and restore default settings screen appears.
  7. Press the Volume down button until Yes is selected.

The device should now reset itself completely.  It may take a few mintues.

Hopefully this will resolve your problem.  If it doesn't, you will need to send the device off for repair.  If you bought it through Vodafone, you can arrange a repair via a Vodafone store or a postal repair by contacting customer services. You can also contact LG directly to arrange a repair.

Thanks drey_p for your help. Did a factory reset as you outlined and restored from an earlier back up. All OK at the moment.
