Hi all,
I bought a Vodafone Smart Prime 6, with a Samsung Evo 64 GB micro SD card.
The phone can't recognise the card. I've tried everything recommended on this site and the internet. No luck. Shop employees haven't a clue.
Before I send back the card and try another brand, could someone tell me a brand of card that actually works on this phone ?
many thanks

Hi
Have you tried the SD Card in another phone just to see if it's recognised and to ensure you've not been unlucky. Make sure it's seated correctly and that their is no dust / lint inside.
Their are many options and mine is the Sandisk SD Cards.
Perhaps pop into your local Vodafone shop to see if they sell them and maybe they'll let you try one in your phone before purchasing it.

Thanks for the reply.
My card was tried in the shop in a different phone and it worked OK.
I've tried a different card in the phone ( 2 GB ) and it works.
It's just this combo of phone and card that doesn't work !
I'm wondering if it can really read a 64GB card, or is it the brand !
cheers

Hi
You're welcome.
I have come across past situations where a person changing Card Manufacturer type has helped Yes.

Just bought a Scandisk 64 GB micro SD card. Still doesn't work. Card formatted OK. Thanks a nappyload Vodafone. Same problem. Storage - Mount SD card - no effect !

@VodaVictim - The Vodafone Smart Prime 6 should work with memory cards up to 64GB.
I’m not aware of other users having this problem, so it could be that the phone's faulty.
Our engineers can look into this further if you arrange a repair.

I am also having the same issue with two smart prime 6 phones and two 64gb microSD cards.
The phone does not want to mount the card regardless of which format I try but complains if I remove the card...

Okay, so after reading around, the solution is to format the MicroSD card in FAT32 format - something that windows does not offer as an option (windows 7 only has exFAT and NTFS as options).
I had to download this which sorted it all out:

I think that the only issues is that you cannot store a file larger than 4GB but that won't be a problem for me.

Hi are you using this phone ?
Could you tell me what micro sd card actually works in this phone ?
I have tried Samsung and Scandisc 64 GB and neither work.
Formatted correctly. Cards work on other devices ( my iMac & Wndows laptop ). I put a 2 GB card in the phone from my SatNav and it can read that !
Vodafone support is useless, shop employees are useless.
cheers

The phone is supposed to be able to accept any up to 64gb.
Sounds like the the phone cannot cope with 64gb !
Have you tried a 32gb ?
