Blackberry Curve 8320 connects but shows SOS

Hi,

I found this same problem in several threads but no solution.

Had my sure signal for approx two years.  Currently working fine with 2 HTC Phones and an Iphone.

Have tried adding my new work Blackberry.

The blackberry switches from 2g to 3g when in range of the box but then after approximately 10 secs it goes to SOS and stays there.  If I select 2g only it finds the weak outside signal again but always with 3g enabled I get the same symptoms - brief period of 3g at 5 bars and then SOS?

Help please!

Re-sync was the answer, thanks for your help.

Hi newrolandsizzer,

Everything looks fine with the details you've posted, although your Sure Signal is flagging a location move which could be affecting this (this can be caused by a few things so don't worry if you haven't moved your Sure Signal :smileywink:)

Can you log into your online acocunt and update your postcode - change it to a different one, then change it back.

After you do this, please reset your Sure Signal and let me know how you get on.

  • Hold down the reset button until all the lights show (about 30 seconds)
  • Keeping the reset button held down, remove then re-insert the power lead.
  • Once all lights display release the reset button.
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.

Paul

Hi,

In my sure signal I only have 'manage users' and 'view dashboard' as options.  No way of changing my postcode?

Al

Disregard my last post - looking at the wrong account.

Changed the postcode - got back to three lights but none of my phones would connect.

De-registered and re-registered.

Back to three lights - shows active in my account.

All our phones show 1 bar of G signal.

Aaaargh!

If it helps the tracert command now says 1 General Failure - the box though has three lights on.

I noticed after the resets that it appeared to sync with a few minutes and not the hour as suggested?

Hi newrolandsizzer

Thanks for getting back to us. I've forced a re-sync from our end to see if that helps, you will need to do a factory re-set to complete the process.

If that does not work are you able to test the Sure Signal at a different location? Have you lost signal with all phones?

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks

Sukhi

Can you confirm I am doing the correct factory reset.

Hold in button - all 4 lights come on.

Unplug, replug still holding in button.

Wait until the 4 lights chase from 1 to 4 and then go back to just light 1.

release button.

The instructions say wait until all lights come back on but in the last step I only see the lights come on in quick succession 1,2,3,4 and then it sits with just light one on until i release the button.

It also resyncs really quickly (about a minute to get back to three lights).

Disregard above.

Before I attempted a factory reset we all joined the network.

Re-sync was the answer, thanks for your help.
