Currently my new broadband connection is running at around 38 to 40 when checks run via speedtest.
Which is not close to the lowest speed of 76 approx. I was initially told I would get.
Is there any way to fix this ?

Hi
it can take around 10 days to settle and in the extreme 30 days on new connections.

Are you using a wired connection or wifi ?
Sometimes changing wireless channel can help.
And or split the frequencies in the router to 2.4ghz and 5ghz.

Wi-Fi and I have split the Wi-Fi at the moment

Hi,
Using wifi will lose some speed.
Can you try a wired connection to see if that improves speed.
Also on wifi please think about changing wifi wireless channel.
Also so depending how new the connection is thus can need the settling in period I mentioned.

Training periods aren't really required for fibre connections - they tend to settle in a couple of days, however Vodafone won't action any checks on the line until you've gone past day 10.
I'm assuming the 38-40 is well below the guaranteed minimum you were quoted at the time or ordering?

76 was the minum quoted

WOW - not often you see a line where the minimum guaranteed speed is 76mb.
You will need to wait until 10 days are passed, but then you can get in touch with Vodafone. As per their own T&C they then have 28 days to get you your minimum guaranteed speed or you can leave without any charges (assuming you can get connection charge back too).

The maximum VF can offer on the top package is 76mbps, so that defo wont be your minimum, you may have been mis sold. If you were to get the 76 max, min should be around 55mbps. And when using wifi, you lose around 20% of your speed also, for best results youre best checking your speed with a ethernet cable

If you got it in writing that the MINIMUM would be 76Mb then you have a case but as others have pointed out, this is more likely the maximum speed. I took out the 76Mb package, but actually got around 50Mb. This dropped to about 36Mb over a few weeks so I downgraded to the 38Mb package - wasn't gonna pay extra for no reason. And yes, to get those speeds down to your PC/laptop, you have to use the wired Ethernet connection rather than the WIFI. This is normal.
