When I try to play a video on my Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 I get a message stating that "the video cannot be play due to an unknown error". Any ideas?

Navigate to the PlayStore and look at the section under Apps > Myapps.

If there is an update then you'll see it there.

Regarding clearing caches > How to clear App Caches.

Just as alternative can you close down the facebook app and use your browser url to navigate to facebook and login and then try again to launch a video.

Hi,

What source as you using to play them.

Ie YouTube.

Can you try downloading another video player.

Are you on on wifi or mobile data?

Mostly these are videos my wife looks at on Facebook where she simply clicks on  'play' so there is no source as such. Wi-fI!

If your using the facebook app then check if there is an update for it.

Clear the apps caches.

Reboot the phone and try again.

Now I do know how to reboot the phone but as to the other two suggestions,  I really don't know where to start.  🤔

Cheers mate! App up to date but closing down app and using the browser did the trick.

No worries.

I personally use the url method as the facebook app can be a memory and resource hog.

That said the videos should play. Maybe something in the settings in facebook itself and not your phones settings side.

Hi @bolo

It depends on whether you are using mobile data or a WiFi connection.

The most likely reason is the file size and length of the video.

Take a look at the following from Google Play.  If you search the Play Store, you may find more.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.melgames.videocompress

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lkland.videocompressor

If the problems continue, please come back to the forum.
