Solution

Cannot unlink Spotify Premium

First post. Hopefully not a repost as couldnt find this specific problem either on the forum or via a google search.

  • I previously has spotify premium and linked that to my vodafone account.
  • Once the offer expired it reverted to me paying for spotify seperately. I have a new contract that does not include entertainment. All Fine.
  • My partner is also a vodafone customer and was utilising this offer via her account until december.
  • Her account should now no longer be linked to vodafone entertainment offer however it remains so.
  • When checking spotify it states; Your subscription is associated with our partner Vodafone, please refer to Vodafone for questions regarding your subscription.
  • When i check with vodafone she is no longer receiving the offer so her spotify account should no longer be linked (https://offers.vodafone.com/gb)
  • If i use the same link above and check against my mobile number it states that i am subscribed until 4/1/18. (this date fits in with when her account renewed)
  • My spotify account is a premium family account which i am paying for separately direct to spotify.
  • It seems somehow her spotify account has now become linked to my vodafone entertainment account (which i am not even eligible for) and i have checked that i am not being billed for via vodafone.

So how can i remove the offer / link to her spotify account with vodafone. I realise that somehow one of us is receiving spotify premium for free but i want to know whats happening and get this resolved.

Thanks

Hi

It can sometimes be quite complicated with these entertainment bundles. My advice if your unable to remedy this yourself via your online myvodafone is to phone 191 and ask Customer service to access your account to do this for you.

Live Chat is another customer service avenue.

Hi @graemecc

This is going to be something which will need to be cancelled and set up again.  This will mean cancelling your paid for subscription from your phone and the free subscription for your friends number which will need to be done from your friends phone by visiting the cancellation page.  When the subscription is cancelled for your number, it will run  it's course until the next renewal date, you will then be in a position to set up a new paid for subscription.   Your friend will also be able to set up a subscription  direct from the number used.

There is further information from Vodafone on the link below.

If you contact Spotify Support direct, they will be able to advise you further.

Thanks for the responses, I will call 191.

@AnnS thanks for you links, the subscription has been cancelled from her phone in December via the link on Vodafone's website. If I follow the link to entertainment bundles to see what is available it shows she has no subscription to Spotify and asks if she would like to add it for 9.99.

Somehow Vodafone have managed to link my wife's Spotify to my Vodafone account. An account that shouldn't be eligible for any vodafone entertainment bundle. I would let it run its course but that is a year from now, not having control over my account is frustrating.

My Spotify account is fine, it functions as normal with no connection to any vodafone account.

I beileve there were a few issues with the linking of accounts in early December, I certainly lost my spotify for a short period until it was resolved.

As has been suggested contact customer services, if they can't assist then sit tight and the eForum team here will be able to resolve the problem (they did for me)

@graemecc Were you able to speak with an adviser via 191?

If so, were they able to help resolve this for you?

They have removed the entertainment/Spotify from my Vodafone account, it now shows as needing to pay via the Vodafone offers page. All good. However my wife's Spotify still seems to be linked to a Vodafone account. Not hers as when I check hers doesn't have the entertainment pack either. Oh well I guess free Spotify for her then
