Confused - how to reset v2?

Hi.

I have the Vodafone Sure Signal V2. (I.e this one).

v2

I've read that to do a factory reset I need to:

  • Factory reset is performed by pressing the reset button for 30 seconds with the power cable plugged in. you will see the LED flash in sequence 1, 2, 3 then go out.
  • Release the reset button (there is no need to remove the power cable for this model)
  • The device will now go into a predefined setup sequence which can take anywhere between 20 minutes to 6 hours depending on the speed of the customers connection

However. All I ever get on mine for the last month or more is a solid red line light. Nothing more. Can't seem to get the ##~## to reset properly?

Help?

Hi,

Yes that's what is suggested to do.

Howevef with the v1 and v2 the power supply can degrade.

It may also be worth trying a different power supply with the SureSignal (Version 1 & 2 ), as there have been some reports of replacement power supplies solving the issues. Even if lights / power are showing. They are available on eBay for around £10.

From member cineriv "But firstly, have a look around for a suitable unit with a 12 Volt output @ around 1.5Amp capacity that you could 'borrow' to prove the fault. Suitable units can be found on external hard drives, monitors, printers, routers etc.etc."

Right OK. For the first time in 2 months it's now starting to flash after finding an alternative power supply - so I guess that had failed so thank you for that suggestion.

I did this around 7:30 or 8pm last night (3rd June).

The same lights are still flashing now - the 2 blue/white ones and also a flashing red bar light.

I guess if it was going to sync it would have done so by now?

EDIT:

Spoke to Vodafone online. (The guy was v helpful).

He seemed to want me to confirm the location in the house had changed? so that he could update and force a sync staight away. He did this and it went from 2 flashing lights to just one. 20minutes later I've now got the solid light and my phone has a full signal!

I'll leave it 24 hours to see if it stays up but looking good.

Been working perfectly all week :Smiling:

Thanks.
