Hi Xleanne19x,

Welcome to the Vodafone eForum. :)

Firstly I must confess that I am a little confused as to what you mean.

When you say the laptop has built in wireless do you mean a built in modem or wireless functionality?

If it is just wireless functionality so you can connect to WIFI then this will not affect the Mobile Broadband.

Do you know which modem she has?

All of the modems we supply, are all simple Plug and Play devices, so my first suggestion if not already done so would be to make sure that there is a SIM in the Modem and plug it into the a USB port on your laptop.

This should then run the installer automatically from the device and install Vodafone Mobile Connect (VMC) software including all of the necessary drivers. Once this has been installed you may need to restart your laptop. Now that the software is installed an Icon should appear on your desktop, open this software and plug in the modem if not already plugged in so the software can detect a network and connect to the internet for you.

If you have any problems or get any error messages let me know and I will look into this for you.
