Data add-ons...EU?

Hi there. I have three phones on the Red Sharer plan (mine is the leader, my wife's and sons are the sharers). As far as I know, the data cannot be shared outwith the UK. My son is going to France next week to stay with his grandparents. If I add 2GB data for a month by texting 2GB to 40506, will he be able to use this data in France, or will this add-on be restricted to UK use, seeing as it's not part of the contracted allowance? I'm scratching my head a little on this one as my understanding of the EU roaming rules are you can use your service exactly as if you were at home.

So if your sons phone has a data allowance as part of Red Sharer then that should be available to use when roaming in France. Is it written somewhere that it's not?

I'd perhaps call for clarification from Vodafone or wait for one of the Social Media guys to check out this post.

Thanks for the reply. I spoke to someone from Vodafone on an online chat and they told me the Sharer plan was only applicable in the UK, but they could not clear up whether a data add-on would work in EU. Hopefully someone here can clarify.

@wilmot76 If you added 2GB data onto your plan, then your son should be able to use this data in France. 

France is one of our Roam-free destinations so there would be no extra charge for this, providing you stay within your allowance.
