Faulty Repair

I recentley had a Galaxy s8 repaired but it has not cured the fault, by the looks of it is all they did was reflash the software. As the phone is less than 6 months old I believe according to the Which.co.uk site, you have one attempt at repair I can then ask for a replacement. If this is the case how do I go about getting this issue sorted?

Hi @markb1604

May I ask what the original issue was?

A Samsung service location (some are Carphone Warehouses) or Samsung Experience Store would be best placed to look at the phone. It has a 24 month manufacturing warranty.

If you wish to proceed with asking for another phone then you will need to speak with Customer service on 191.

Phone calls constantly break up I can receive calls from other people okay but if I call them 9 out of 10 Cal are illegible

If incoming call quality is stable and audible then I'm not convinced its a phone issue because if it was both incoming and outgoing calls I would think be affected.

Did you upgrade as an existing customer or have you recently joined Vodafone as a new customer porting in bringing your number with you ?

As a process of elimination can you insert your sim card in another phone to rule out the phone or sim card or account that maybe at issue.

Try another sim card in the phone.

Vodafone flashing the firmware is a standard 1st process which remedies most issues. Sometimes if issues are intermittent or not present when they test the phone then there's not much further they can do hence my suggestion to try a Service Location.

I have 3 phones on my account all the others are fine it's just this one. If I use Bluetooth from the car it is fine, if I then transfer back to the handset it breaks up again.

I am an long time customer and it never happened with my previous phone with same sim

Ok I was asking if you had ported in as there can be bedding in issues with porting files that can cause issues.

Are you able to test your sim in another phone and another sim in your current phone. That should hopefully clear up where the issue is

As I say all calls would be affected in my opinion if the phone was failing. That said im not an engineer in any way so a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre could check it out. They'll know their hardware and software better than any repair centre.

@markb1604 Did you previously have your phone repaired by Vodafone?
We'll need you to pop into your nearest Vodafone store so we can get the phone evaluated :Smiling:
