Hi,
I can see on my first bill I have been charged £12.50 for "Fixed line access".
Can anyone explain what this charge represents?
When I signed up with Vodafone I included phone calls for £8 so am confused as to what this charge is.

Did you have an engineer have to come in your house to connect the phone line up? If so it might be the charge for that.

Hi,
No visit by an engineer. Thank you for your reply.

In that case I'm stumped. It's not a line rental charge cos that's included in the broadband. I'm sure a VF employee who monitor this boards will be in contact soon.

Just a thought, does that charge appear in the call charges part of your bill?
If you call 0845 0870 etc or premium rate numbers the charge is split into 2 parts; an access charge, which goes to your phone provider, in this case VF, and a service charge which goes to the organisation you are calling.
Could that be the answer?

@hyb The best team to contact would be our Broadband Live Chat team. They'll be happy to break down your bill for you and explain anything that you're not 100% certain of.
Let us know how you get on and pop back to us if there's anything at all that you're still unsure of 👍

Thank you all for your replies, I contacted Vodafone and if I heard correctly, it is part of the setup for new customers.
