Galaxy S3 mini dropping data

I have a Galaxy s3 mini which drops the data connection after around an hour whether its using data or not. When it goes there is no letter next to the signal bar.  If I restart the phone it comes back again for around another hour. Have tried APN settings and done a hard reset but its still the same. Anyone any ideas?

Please try the steps in our Network Troubleshooting thread so we can rule out any network issues that may be causing this.
