Had the said phone for a few weeks. Really pleased considering its not an htc (been with htc for 6 years) having never liked the Sammy trait of copying the iPhone in so many ways....but hell i do like this phones case...all gorilla glass back and front....hang on..just like the iPhone..!.Shame about the tinny mono speaker....really miss the m8 for that.

Can't seem to get the Smart Stay functionality to work at all...bloody thing is switching off even when held with the light behind it and on my face...the s5 works flawlessly on my mother in laws phone.

Anyway to the main point...after realising that there is no stock video or music player i downloaded the so called Samsung Music app.
Boy was i in for a shock.

Firstly the ratings said it was brilliant best in class etc...all i can say it what a load of clap trap...the worst music app ever..no filterin, repeat track, random or way to update the album art..
(there is no way of authorising the app to use the interent stupidly...like it needs to).

Anyhow uninstalled and popped on playerpro...works the way a plyer should with all the options includong gapless. Way way better.

Until...funny thing after a few tracks my sound disappeared...all of it.. including system sounds vibration keyboard clicks and all....and then the phone bottlenecked...

I had to hard reset and luckily all was back to normal.

Anyway the next day today in fact i was dowloading a few google music streams and whilst using this to preview tracks, the thing did it again. Soundless and completely slowed..to the point that typing caught up 20 seconds later and each screen switch took nearly 10 seconds. Reset number 2.

So I installed a cpu veiwer to try to watch whether it was memory or cpu...on cue i managed to create it again this time after 9 mins of playing and switching tracks (worryingly i seem to be able to recreate it) and the memory was fine with 1.5gb free. However 6 of the cpus were stuck at 1546ghz, two were idle...so seems to be cpu related.

I have phoned it in but its not looking good as they suggested to return the phone for a repair..!
Is there something we are not aware of Samsung!?!?

Anyone else experienced anything..?

My opinion is that the iPhone is without a SD Card helps keep it sandboxed away from potential threats.

I've always bought the 16gb versions as that's enough for my usage pattern. I use Dropbox for storing data and an iPod Touch for listening to my tunes while commuting.

I'm fortunate to be in an area with good signal with 4G and speeds touching 40-50mpbs and upload speeds of 10+mpbs.

Like you I have jailbroken my iPhone's and like how that can show the true potential of the phone.

Being able to apply themes and various tweaks has been a good experience for me.

The only issue is if a person uses ssh and do not change the default password.

It's quite funny how Apple implement a new iOS feature which has clearly been borrowed from a known tweak.

The Samsung Galaxy s7 edge has certainly caught my eye and will be making my final decision September to buy that sim free or not.

On my HTC syncing all contacts, their FB profile picture and last comment was a very good thing until FB changed its permissions. It stopped syncing other than the names.

I wish they wouldn't be so much in competition with each other ...especially when the result is against the public interest. And yes I know they are businesses...but that is what partnering is all about..being superficially friendly yet making profit at the same time. Good 'old capitalism.

I could still do the same with Twitter and other social media sites however. It meant all my contacts were merged at name level but I could at a whim filter them anytime.

I was actually using Facebook a lot as a result too back then....as I had to reply using Facebook proper but it just worked well IMHO.

Now its broken so to speak i dont use Facebook on the phone at all. Massive app sizes and ram hungry, let alone those blessed notifications on email every week, day some times...I dont miss those.

Their loss.

You're right in that syncing issues with FB are as a result of something at their end. I use a contacts app that used to be able to go to FB and pull profile photos from B if it could find a frienf matching my contacts and add them to the contact record. That doesn't work anymore either due to the changes at FB.

Apparently there is the ability still but it requires the Facebook recipient in question to specifically give the permission themselves to you.
I once got lost for three days in Facebook settings. Fun times.
