Any announcement or hints yet as to whether or not Vodafone are going to stock this flagship or are sticking with the no HTC stocking trend of the last year??

@Fergout

You'll be able to order the HTC U11 on our network through Carphone Warehouse, however we don't currently have any plans to stock the handset ourselves.

Does this also apply to business customers as HTC is my manufacturer of choice?

@marpate1 You'd need to discuss this with our Business team.

I'm a business customer of 10+ years, up until yesterday I had been given mixed messages about HTC, it was like Vodafone were doing some sort of PR hokey cokey, one min they were in, the next they were out. I was just waiting for them shaking it all about!!

The latest when I spoke to them yesterday was they have no intention of stocking any HTC phones in the future. Vodafone seems to be putting their eggs (or phones) into two very clear baskets, neither of which I want. I'm looking at taking my business elsewhere where there's more choice & customers are listened to. V disappointed.

Apple and Samsung between them account for nearly 90 of the U.K. Smartphone market. Huawei and Sony bring up the rear. HTC is now very much a bit player and Vodafone has made a very clear business choice not to support phones with a tiny market share. That might not suit you but there are other ways of getting the handset and staying with this network. Clearly, someone thinks that the cost of ranging and stocking the HTC 11 will be more than the custom that might be lost by not selling it. What is most disappointing from a customer services perspective is the mixed messages. This happened last year as well when it was crystal clear that the network never had any intention of selling an HTC handset.

If you are referring to going to a certain third party supplier, having dealt with them before & tried to get a simple answer from their customer services yesterday with no decent answer given. I would rather stick pins in my eyes. Unfortunately, my mind is made up, another service provider will get my custom & my money. Giving the customer choice is what it's all about. restricting your market will always have a negative.

I wouldn't have minded but Vodafone CS didn't even attempt to retain my custom when I spoke to them yesterday just offered me my code. Clearly, they don't need my business & couldn't care less. If you see that as me stamping my feet because i'm dissatisfied so be it.

I've been with Vodafone for years and really wanted them to get this phone, I'm not a fan or Apple or Samsung, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium was tempting but I've decided to move instead. Yes I could go to CPWH but then since I'm not buying directly from Vodafone I can't apply my discount.

Strangely though the decision not to stock this phone either came late, or they have had a change of mind as there seems to be Vodafone uk specific firmware around for it. 2PZCIMG_OCEAN_UHL_N71_SENSE90GP_Vodafone_UK_1.03.161.6_Radio_8998-001791AE-1705110032_release_504904_combined_signed_2_4.zip

I'll be leaving too which I'm disappointed to have to do. I've been with Vodafone 10 years and have actually always been impressed with their customer service etc, however, I need an upgrade and I simply don't want a Samsung or Apple device so feel my hands are tied now. :Sad_face:

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who doesn't want the mainstream offerings the Vodafone seem to think all their customers want. Roll on August 1st when I'm penalty free. Vodafone need to listen to their customers.

There is a downside to buying a device that has low sales from a network, and that's that you may not get firmware updates.   Vodafone are plugging the Sony XA in their advertising (which implies more than marginal sales), but it'll still be on Marshmallow.   If this is a consideration for you, going SIM-free is worthwhile.  This means either buying outright or via CPW.

Or going to another provider!
