Hi,
Back in July 2016, I cancelled my contract with Vodafone due to them exceeding the RPI % of my agreed bill.
I wrote to vodafone to cancel this and got confirmation of this; and it was cancelled. I called up Vodafone and double checked that no outstanding payments would occur; there are large amounts of notes on the account testifying to this.
After checking my credit report; I noticed a late payment for several months on my account and this made me investigate. of-which i discover that an outstanding 13.49 was put onto the account for some reason? - when i was told no outstanding balance would occur.
So i went into the store and paid this 13.49 and was told that the account is settled and can now close. (note: i received no communication from vodafone that I owed this amount).
Fowarding onto this week, i recieve three letters at once; of a outstanding balance from vodafone, a final payment notice from vodafone, and a debt collectors on behalf of vodafone; all dated 02/12/2016.
So I called vodafone to query this factor; to which 6 hours of calling operators confirmed (and I have this in writing) that I owe nothing to vodafone; or third party debt collectors.
I ask vodafone to ensure nothing goes onto my credit history file; and was told that it would be fine.
I've got a statement from my credit history file and it has a negative factor added; stating that i am in serious arears with vodafone.
This is preventing me from buying a home; and has caused significant stress.
I've been hearing stories from the News about Vodafones new system essentially ruining lives due to incorrect credit reports.
Who do I contact to actually get this account closed permentantly; to remove all bad remarks on my credit file and to get confirmation of these steps for my records?
This has taken far too long to form a solution
Regards,
James.

Hi,
The Department of Vodafone is called The Credit File Support Team. They are contactable through Customer services.
They have the necessary tools to have a Default removed if not warranted.
A help guide I wrote is > Default-on-your-Credit-File-and How-to-add-a-Notice-of-Correction.
Current Phone >
Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra 512gb Phantom Black.

Hi @J641
We'll be happy to look into this.
I'm about to send you a PM with our contact details.
We have a dedicated part of our team that looks into credit file issues, so we'll likely be able to find out what's going on with your account.
