Iphone 5 & 6 will not reconnect to network having lost connection

I have recently changed from iphone 5 to 6 and can confirm that this problem exists on both phones so not sim card or hardware related.

Both phones work fine but when I go to areas with no signal (there are a few in hampshire where I live) neither phone would/will reconnect to the network at all. Sometimes switching to airplane mode and back will help but mostly I need to turn phone off and on again to get signal back at all. I only notice this problem when I spend some time in an area with no signal it seems.

Phil I am sorry but I do not accept that I personally have 2 phones that have the exact same fault and therefore need "repair"

I can say though that today I was in one of the same locations that I have lost signal in before due to bad coverage and today my phone reconnected fine after @ 2 hours with no service.

I am going to take a look at the Apple forums to see just how widespread this issue is.

Plenty of evidence all over the internet of people having this problem on various networks

Today lost signal at @11am have just rebooted phone to get signal back.

OK have filled in the form etc.

Sat at home today where we have a sure signal. Looked at phone "no service" checked sure signal was ok.

Waited 1 hour no change. Turned off and on again. Full signal!

I've just started to experience this problem over the last three weeks. It is on automatic network and the only way I can get a signal again is to turn the phone on and off. it's happened twice in the last couple of days. I'm having to constantly check my phone when I know I'm going from an area of no coverage to an area I know is okay.

Hi @lprodger

We can take a look at the phone.

See our repair process here.

Cheers,

SO today it happened twice! Had to reset phone both times. Following my earlier posts re this and as the OP. I can only conclude having spoken to a number of other users on Voda and other networks who regularly suffer the same that this is an Apple problem. I am going to try to speak to apple re this and suggest that everybody else does to!

I am experiencing similar problems.  Could you confirm if the the problem is rectifiable and if so how?  Can you also confirm who is reponsible for this issue, Vodafone or Apple in order that I contact Apple if appropriate?

Has just happened again to me.

All I can say is that I have spoken to other iphone owners on O2 and on EE who also suffer the same problems.

Some of them have iphone 5 which does exactly the same.

I can only conclude that it is an apple problem!

I live in an area of the country where there are a number of mobile signal holes and this happens when I visit these areas and then return to an area with signal.

I support a small business of approx. 30 iPhone 6 which were all new with new nano SIMs.

Most of the staff have experienced this issue which requires either the SIM to be removed and re-inserted or the device restarted.

The Apple support forum is full of posts about it from all over the world so for Vodafone to say you are not aware of a general issue is pretty poor.

I appreciate it isn't your issue but you are in a better position to exert some pressure to speed up a resolution.

Having had the problem yet again! I visited the EE forums as I was considering changing my service provider.

Many people on EE having the same issue. Definately an Apple problem which in my view is software related as I had the same problem with my I phone 5
