Iphone 6 and free Spotify Premium

Hi,

I have upgraded today to an iphone 6 64gb (£53.50 per month) and it comes with Sotify Premium free for 2 years.

The order confirmation email came through very quickly but I have yet to receive a text that enables me to choose Spotify (or Sky Sports or Netflix)

Discussed this with an online chat member of staff and he told me to text ENTERTAINMENT to 97613 and then to follow the link. Now when I do this it does indeed have the Spotify Premium selection option but tells me this will cost £9.99 per month (the first month being free). The online agent has told me to ignore this and assured me I will not be charged the additional premium each month- I have not yet done this as I am rather dubious!

Please could someone confirm this is correct - surely the Vodafone systems should have picked up that I have now successfully upgraded to the new tariff and that there is no charge for 24 months.

Existing customers upgrading get the new plan (and all the associated shinies) immediately, since they can use these on their old phone; new customers, the line needs to activate first, which doesn't happen until sometime in the dispatch/delivery/received end of things.

I chose Spotify last year as my freebie when I got the 5S, I want to get this again with the 6, but the only choice I have is sky sports or Netflix, both of which I do not want. I cancelled the Spotify premium from last year when the free trial ended, how can I go about getting Spotify again this year?

Hi,

Hoping someone can help.

I've upgraded my phone to the new iPhone last week and was told that I get "double content" - Netflix for 6 months and Spotify or SkySports.

I've received the text with the link to choose one, to which I chose Spotify. But i've now no idea how I go about getting Netflix too? I've downloaded the app, but prompts for email and pwd...

Any ideas?

Hi guys,

@SkylinerLvr @aquestion – Have you had the message with the setting come through yet?

If not Text “Entertainment” to 97613 and select the package there.

@mse120479 – See here for help with getting the packages.

@stevehiggin – You can text “Entertainment” to 97613, just be aware that you’ll be charged for the package you select.

@COGS – This is odd.

So my team can take a look, get in touch with us here.

Cheers,

Laura

Thanks for the reply Laura  but we had the text message come though with the link and we have already tried the sending the words entertainment to the number quoted and we got the same sms with the same link which just offers Netflix. WIFI was off and only Mobile Data on we have a contract which should have the Netflix and one of Spotify or Sky sports. The browser used was Safari and as usual nothing runs smoothly with Vodafone it seems.

So what would you suggest we do now please?

Thank you in advance for your assitance in resolving this issue.

Looks like it's taking a while to update accounts. I was trying to set up Netfix and Spotify over the weekend. If you follow the link after sending ENTERTAINMENT and it says you only get one month free then the right package has not been added to your account. I did try and set it up thinking it was a typo but was advised that it had indeed put me on a paid subscription when I called Vodafone. I received a text this morning from Vodafone, it has the same link, but this time I could see Netflix and Spotify/Sky, so I'm all set up now.

Hi Laura,

I completed the details via the link you sent and got this response:

"We don’t use this email address anymore, so our advisers won’t get your message. Don’t worry, you can chat to an adviser online instead – they’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week"

??!!

Hi Laura, I got the message from Vodafone last night at 23:57 (not a great time to send out messages) telling me this:- Your Red 4G plan includes a subscription to Netflix, Spotify Premium or Sky Sports Mobile. You can either choose to watch TV shows and films, listen to your favourite tracks or watch live sports on the go. Just visit https://offers.vodafone.com/gb to choose which one you’d like. The choice is yours. When I go to the link the only choices I have are Netflix and Sky Sports Mobile, I want to go with Spotify again as I have just got a new contract for the iPhone6 I don't see why I would be charged for this?? Thanks Steve

I had Spotify on my last contract and had to get Vodafone to remove it before I could add it again.

Laura,

Thanks for the attempt to help, but that link is for android users. I have an iphone 5, and am updating to a 6+ in (hopefully) a few days.

I just sent the "ENTERTAINMENT" text again, and the link which is sent still only shows Netflix (which I am already a member of, and have had 6 months worth of credit added to my account by you).

Is there a link you can send specifically for sky sports? I already have sky sports on my laptop and iPad, and that takes me to my device limit, so a free sub on my phone courtesy of Vodafone would be handy! Not interested in spotify at all.

Thanks!
