LG G6

My upgrade is due in 5 days and I was considering the LG G6 but it seems to have disappeared from the shop. Is it coming back? Is it being replaced by the G6+?!

Hi @tawnyowl63

Taking a look at the Vodafone Online Store it does indeed report its no longer available online.

There could be stock availability in Highstreet Stores , maybe.

Vodafone wouldn't comment on upcoming phones or on the reintroduction of previous models.

A person can watch Vodafone - coming-soon.

If your set on the Lg G6 then alternative avenues could be to visit Carphone Warehouse to see if they can help you. To note you'd thrn be Carphone Warehouse Customer with Vodafone supplying the Network Connection part. Certain discounts such as VEA and services such as Calling Over Wifi are not available if certain handset types are not supplied directly via Vodafone.

Or you could buy it sim free , unlocked and then go Sim Only with Vodafone when your Contract End date (not early upgrade date) has been reached.

Thanks for that. I see you use an S8; thoughts on this? Big upgrade on S7/S7 edge? I'm just not convinced by curved edges

I used the Samsung Galaxy s7 edge previously @tawnyowl63 for around 8 months and liked it and so I upgraded to the s8 which does bring more improvement

Less accidental touch issues on the edge part. The s8 has a more defined curve that blends in if that makes sense. The s7 edge was more pronounced.

Faster chipset.

Infinity display.

Future proofed to run Nougat as it's launched with it already on and then the new upcoming 'O' firmware.

It's slicker ui  i.e Grace from the Note 7 is nice along with the phone being awesome at optimisation. Its called Samsung Experience 8.1.

Hi @tawnyowl63

Take a look at the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus as an alternative.  The specification are a lot better than the LG and it's a much better phone.

Thank you! Have you tried the P10/P10 Plus

Hi @tawnyowl63

Having been a Samsung and a LG 4 user, I now own a Huawei P10 Plus, purchased unlocked and SIM free from a well know third party seller.

I am very pleased with the phone, the phone is true flagship and has good speed capabilities and copes with multi tasking, the camera takes excellent pictures. The best part is the feel of the phone, it's premium quality and sturdy but still thin enough to fit in your hand.

If you are going to get the phone direct from Vodafone on a airtime contract, probably your best bet will be to go into a store and ask for a demonstration of all the phones you are interested in.  Store staff are there to help.
