I got a phone about 12 months ago, but I never used the contract. - I Can't remember the number - and Vodafone said it's on an old System and they can't find details.. ?? Yet it's registered to my address! - Can I cancel Direct Debt and see if they can then find my account? - As they said my Current 2 contracts are on the new system and the other is an old one. - I did put in a complaint as they can't give me any details about my account - even via phone or live chat. - All I want them to do is give me the number and send a new sim out. any advice be great other then going into a shop?

Look at the direct debit details, it should show your Vodafone account number associated with the contract as the Payee Reference.
Armed with your account number, give it to Vodafone and they can trace your account, which I know sounds obvious but I once was told that my account number alone was not enough information to trace my account and they need the phone number too. Once I pointed out how ridiculous that comment was they 'surprisingly' managed to find it using the account number only.

Do you have any past emails saved in a folder if the contract was set up online / over the phone ?
Have you tried the Sim Card in a phone to check if it works. If it’s the wrong size to fit in your current phone then the Network Shops and some £1 discount stores sell the plastic Sim Card Adapters.
I appreciate your not really wanting to do this but A Vodafone Highstreet Store should be able to help by providing a Sim Swap which puts that accounts details onto the new sim.
As for stopping your Direct Debit - I’m sure your venting and are fully aware of the ramifications of doing so.
