Mobile Broadband - Changing to iPhone can I still use mobile Broadband

I have monthly Vodafone mobile broadband which is out of contract.

The thing is, I use it very rarely.

So here's my plan, and I'm hoping someone in the know can tell me if this will work.

What I'm thinking of doing is changing it to an iPhone (monthly) because I would use that a lot more often. But if I do this, will I be able to take the iPhone SIM out and use it in the mobile broadband dongle?

Thanks James.

That's now perfectly clear so thank you everyone for your comments :)

As I understand it, the iPhone data and the tethered data are separate and charged separately on my bill.

So I just thought of one more charging question about going abroad. Does it mean that each of them will incur the 9.99 per 50Mb per day charge?

Meaning, if I use 1Mb of "iPhone" data and 1Mb of "tethered" data while I am in Spain, that there will be 2 charges of 9.99 for that day?

Thanks again.

Note - I just created a separate thread for this pricing question as it's probably separate from the main thrust of this thread.
