Mobile Broadband Payg

I have very recently purchased a Mobile Broadband Dongle from Tesco which included a 1GB of usage which can last up to 270 days before needing to be topped up again, very useful for occasional use. I have read somewhere that top ups now only last 30 days and the 270 day option is no longer available, is this correct?

thats another lost customer from me, i was just going to buy several.
£15/month is just like a contract, a con payg.

Companies in this country just don't understand what their customers want do you ....

"we evaluate our products"
But you don't communicate with your potential customers, what a stupid move, removing a product which will sell because of its unique tariff....now you are just the same as everyone else, and because of that, I would no longer choose vodafone.

I have just found these on pc world site and reserved some quickly

I can't believe a company is doing something as stupid as discontinuing this product.

Please could you confirm that pc world are selling them with no expiry, it says so on their website, which I have taken a copy of so I can use it as a comeback if I find out the product is 'not as described' - part of the selling regulations.

Hoping it is the non expiry

What a mess up, your market research team definately got this one wrong.

Hi ukguy99,

Without seeing the boxes the modems are coming in I'm unable to answer.

However you are 100% correct in saying the product should match what it says on the website, else it is mis sold and you should be able to return them to PC World for a full refund.

If you have anymore questions please let me know. :)

Thanks

Hi Holly
I now have my dongle, they still have it in pc world as "No contract"
The booklet inside my dongle has 2009 on the back and also on one page it mentions the 180 day useage to prevent losing credit so I guess I'm on the old non expiry, is there any way of confirming this?

If its not non-expiry there's going to be heads rolling in pc world... and I'll have a happy chat with consumer direct.
What details can I send you to confirm? IMEI? (Not on here though)

Hi ukguy99,

I can check on this for you, I'll just need the phone or SIM number. Obviously, I don't expect you to post these details on here so I've sent you an email. Just reply with all the details and I'll be in touch as soon as I can.

Hi all,

I can confirm that PC World, and certain other third-party retailers, are still stocking the old style non-expiring USB Modems. These will be clearly labelled as 1GB for £15 top-up, and 180 day expiry.

Hi guys

I'm glad I've found this thread. I've got some concerns that I may have been 'transferred' over to the new system.

I purchased a £15 per GB dongle about september last year and my usage has probably remained constant since then. However, since the beginning of the year I seem to be topping up every month which is a concern.

Any nice voda people here want to check my account for me and put my mind at rest?

Thanks

Don

Hi DonnieH

None of the previous accounts that had a non expiry have been transferred over to the expiry details.

If you register for "My Account" through our website and register your PAYT Mobile Broadband details, you can check the usage you are using.

If you have any further questions please let us know :D

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

I already have my details registered and when I log in I can see my calling credit and its states that my plan is 'Topup and Go'.

I can't see anywhere to click to see usage figures.

Thanks

Don
