Hi, I have been using a vodafone k4505 since february on my old ibook g4, it has been fine until a few days ago when it suddenly stopped connecting. It went back to the 'mobile network operator screen' and the goes through the steps to connect you. However it doesn't connect and comes up with the message;
Could not create network settings.
Check that the APN, user name and password in the current connection settings are correct.
If the problem persists, please try deleting the current connection settings, and re-starting the application."
I went to my vodafone store and they suggested uninstalling the vodafone program and re-installing.
I tried this but still no luck.
Please help as I use this for work and I need it back urgently.
Thanks.
Pete

Hi there ukspud3,
Sorry to read of the problems you're seeing here. Can you confirm you fully uninstalled from Control Panel?
If so, then could you attempt the modem in an alternative machine, just to rule out the hardware as being faulty, and let me know how you get on?
Cheers,
LeeH

Hi, there is no control panel on ibook, you just drag to trash. The guy at the vodafone shop checked the modem at the shop and found no problem.

Hi there UKspud3!
Apologies for the mixup! What version of Mac OSX are you running - 10.x.x? Please first try downloading the latest Vodafone Mobile Connect - it contains a whole ton of backward compatibility drivers that should help resolve this for you if you're suffering driver/conflict problems. Please drag the old one to trash, empty, restart, install the new one. Let us know how you get on!

Hi ukspud3
Can you try removing the VMC software using the method below:
Open applications - Vodafone utilities
double click "Vodafone Mobile Broadband Uninstaller"
enter admin password
click uninstall - then uninstall again to confirm
restart your Mac
empty the trash
Then reinstall the latest version of VMC and retry.
I have also attached a document which shows how to set up a manual connection which may assist.
Let me know how you get on.

Hi Ukspud
You mentioned that the person at the store tested the modem, did he test the whole unit on another machine or just the sim card. As all of the above suggestions have not solved the issue, could you test the sim in another phone.
We need to be 100% sure that it is making some sort of connection, so when you insert it into a Vodafone handset, it should show a signal, or allow sending to messages.
Thanks
