Mobile Broadband - problems connecting while abroad.

Hi,

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who is having problems with their vodefone pay as you go USB dongle. When they travelled to New Zealand they bought a new zealand vodafone to use in their UK dongle but that didn't work. They went to a vodafone store out there, the shop assistant had a look at their laptop and changed some settings, that still didn't work so they sold him a new zealand vodafone dongle and that worked fine. Now they're back in the UK and their UK dongle doesn't work. It turns out that the vodafone store person in new zealand didn't add a new connection for NZ dongle, they just editted the details for the UK connection.

When trying to connect it gives the error message "Error 619: A connection to the remote computer could not be established, so the port used for this connection was closed."

How would I go about restoring the connection settings to the defaults?

Thanks

Hi bottlegrog and a massive welcome to the eForum.

If you uninstall the VMC software from the laptop and then reinstall it directly from the UK dongle this should resolve the problem for you completely.

Let us know how you get on with this.
