Hi there, I'm a new customer on a SIM Only Plan. I am using a Google Pixel XL just updated to Android 8.0 Oreo, and when I try and use the my Vodafone App to log in, it asks me to set a PIN. When I try and do this using Gboard it crashes when I click on a character. I've tried removing the app, downgrading Gboard and all sorts. It's not working. Regards.

As it's a new Android firmware the app maybe still catching up.
Check that no update is pending in the PlayStore.
If not try deleting the apps cach and data then delete it from the phone and then navigate to the app in your My Apps in the PlayStore and delete it there too.
You could also delete the phones system cache by turning the phone Off and go through the button presses to enter the phones file system.
Then re download it.
If that does not help then there should be a way within the app presumably to email / contact the developer to pass on the bug your experiencing.
Current Phone >
Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra 512gb.

Hi @Anonymous
As this is a new Android update and not available to other devices for some time, quite sure you are going to find the My Vodafone not yet updated and compatable with the new Oreo software.
However, after any update it is always advisable to do a reset of the phone to clear out any bugs. You can then try reinstalling the Application. You will find Vodafone Start will come up on your phone and will be installed as your home page, this will be this will mean changing your internet home page back to Google. However, as the Application is on the Start page, you can download the Application from there and delete Start from your Applications.
Until you are able to use the Application, there are other way to check your usage, please see the link below.

One of the downsides of getting platform updates early is that apps are sometimes not ready for them. This has happened in the past and the My Vodafone app will catch up in due course.

I'll just add, I updated to Oreo weeks ago, Vodafone app worked fine for me and as usual, Vodafone put out an update and now I have the same problem as the initial poster!! It also, which didn't happen before, asks me to switch off my WiFi when accessing the app where before I could happily have WiFi and Data switched on simultaneously.
So no, the original poster is not alone and this is annoying, given I use said app to keep an eye on my kids usage so my bills aren't humongous. As a consequence, I'll be using this issue as a means to argue the non-payment of over use of data in my Daughters case!

Considering the Sony XZ1 and XZ1 Compact launch with Android 8.0 I hope that means that the app gets updated very soon for those users
