Solution

New Sure Signal - poor signal strength

Hi. The signal strength shown on our phones is mostly at full strength when not making a call. However, when a call is in progress the number of bars frequently falls, often to one or zero, and the call quality becomes so bad that neither side can hear the other. It occurs even when we are in the same room as the SS.

It doesn't occur every time, but happens very frequently. It happens with all three of our phones.

The SS is not near the router. The light on the SS comes on as it should when a call is in progress.

Thanks.

Hi sbailey

Thank you for your post and for keeping us updated.:smileyhappy:

I am pleased to see that a change of router highlights the SS is not at fault, as this appears to be the router that that is the cause you will need to contact the manufacturer for further support.

It may be worth changing the channel that the router uses as this may improve packet transmission of the SS, unfortunately we do not support the handover between macro to femto cell, however I have seen that switching from airplane mode and back again will reconnect speed up the connection with the Sure Signal.

Many Thanks

First Post.  I am having trouble registering my sure signal. It was registered to my old account with my old phone and my new phone was an added user. I am now trying to reregister my sure signal with the new phone and it keeps telling me that the sure signal box is already registered. I have tried a box reset. Having read some tips on the forum I tried to do a trace but I get the message that command :- 212.183.133.181 is not recognized as an internal or external command. Can you help?

PS Is this the correct way to post a query?

Hi Jimk

Welcome to the eForum. You can de-register your Sure Signal via My Account.

If that does not work for you simply reply back to the PM I’ve sent and I'll get this done :Smiling:

Thanks

Thanks Sukhi

I've just discovered that my newish phone that I've registered isn't 3G. What a pillock! Yet if I take the phone into the room with the Sure Signal box in it, the signal improves, how strange. Will now be on the lookout for a 3G phone as the mobile signal on most networks in my area of North Norfolk is pathetic. Thanks again for your help

Hi

I have just installed SureSignal at new premises. Had one at other address for ages which gave great service.

Mt IPhone 4S doesn't seem to connect to Suresignal properly. No matter what i do in terms of reset I get very poor signal strength, leading to calls dropping in and out.

Just discovered that if I power off and then on again, all seems hunky dory, but can't go doimng that each time I go out and come back into range.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi mewscottage,

It sounds like the problem that you are seeing is down to the phone having an active data connection running in the background, this is then stopping it from connecting to the Sure Signal straight away.

The only way to remedy this is to flick the phone onto aeroplane mode for 10 seconds and then back to normal phone mode.
