Hi, i have recently upgraded my iphone 4 to an iphone 5, since i have activated it my sure signal box is not recognising my number, i have kept the same number and have tried rebooting the box several times and also gone through the different methods given in your threads. i have read that you may have to reset my ss box serial number 21230047017

not a happy bunny at the moment as this is my business number and am loosing customers

Hi Geoff,

It's unlikely to be the Sure Signal.

The issue is most likely to do with having a new sim with the same number. It can take a bit of time for this to register itself with the Sure signal, which is really like an added node to the mobile network.

Bear in mind that the phone number you know is really just an alias that has to be mapped by the network to your phone's IME number. The main network will reconcile this pretty quickly, but I guess that femtocells (which is what the Sure Signal is) evidently take longer.

Should resolve itself without further intervention, but if it hasn't in another 24 hours, report back by posting in this same message thread.

Hi geiffstevens,

Thanks for your post.

The information provided above by allegoricus is correct.

I’ve checked your serial number and everything looks fine. How long has it been since the SIM change was processed?

Thanks,

Jenny
