I have been using a company business account. I no longer own the company but never got round to changing over the name. The phone is registered to my home address and ive been paying the bill from my personal account for 3 years. When I called to pay my bill i was told they could not discuss the account with me. I'd need to go into vodafone and show proof of company. Please can anyone advise how to fix this? I am unable to contact the company that the phone is under Now?

Hi @M123
Totally understand and appreciate how this situation is frustrating for you.
Vodafone Customer Services would only engage with the Account Holder / Authorised Person on the account especially in regards to account changes.
If you sold the company for example then you would most probably need to liaise with the new owner for support.
The Vodafone Social Media Team here do not have access to Business Accounts im afraid.

In the first instance, I agree that it's best to contact the new owner of the company. It would simply be a matter of completing a Transfer of Ownership form and the contract is yours.
If you have problems, it might be worth posting back here. Although this is a consumer forum, it's possible that the team can point you in the right direction.

Yes, I am aware of the transfer of ownership. Contacting the company is now not an option and this is where the issue is coming from. I have been paying this account for years. It's on my credit rating. Surely there must be a way for them to change it over?

@M123 I'm sorry to hear you're having problems transferring your account from Business to Consumer.
As @BandOfBrothers and @hrym have advised, we do have limited access to be able to deal with Business accounts.
Our Business Live Chat team will be happy to help. Alternatively, you can contact them on 0808 060 0802.
Please let us know how you get on.

All you can do is ask. if you have enough documentation to demonstrate effective ownership, it might be possible, but the company name may be a stumbling block. Simply not paying isn't an option because your address is on the contract and would take the credit rating hit.
The only other practical way might be formal renunciation of association with the contract, but you'd lose the number, of course.
